That trip last month, just 4 weeks ago was all that and a bag of chips. With Christmas and New Year's being incredible, I can't ask for more. It simply couldn't have been better. I was with all 8 nephews and nieces, my 4 siblings, my parents and surrogate grandmother! Geisha, my pup, unfortunately couldn't make it with me but she was in the good hands of Jason.
Now, I'm off to cover the Jazz Festival in Barbados! How awesome is that!!? Jan. 16-20. Erica Badu headlines, with sidebars like the Cuban All Star Jazz Band. They absolutely rock hard! I was proud to be a Cuban when I heard them. Other bands will make up the week long festival. While I'll be listening to great music and interviewing artists, you better believe I'll be making time for some good eats, and even try to hit the beach.
Much like my last special requests, I only ask for a bottle of Bajan Rum in my suit, since I ended up gifting it to my dad for Christmas. They'll comply, I hope, and life will be all good.
